First Impressions Can Be Misleading
Kate goes on a date. It’s been almost a year since her last date. What a breath of fresh air he is. Polite and well dressed. A well-groomed gentleman, interesting and interested. A night is filled with laughter and great conversations. There was even a perfect first date kiss. Kate is over the moon. She thinks, ‘Finally, all the work I’ve put to attract love is paying off.’
The next day Kate calls her mother and her sisters. She’s telling them about the man she’s met,
‘It might be a bit too early to book the wedding venue, but I have an amazing feeling about him. He could be the one. We just really clicked last night; I can feel it.’
He messages Kate to arrange a second date and invites her over. He wants to cook for her. Kate makes it very clear that she does not want to come to his place. She would rather meet him in town. That is not his plan. He ends up blocking Kate.
Stop Falling in Love with A Fantasy
Why did this happen? Why did the guy that you thought was so great ended up being the complete opposite?
You have been single for a while. No dates. No compliments. Or maybe a lot of bad dates. You are meeting him and you are like a hungry puppy. You just want someone decent.
He acts like a gentleman. He picks up the bill and opens the door for you. He even makes you laugh. You can’t even remember the last time you were having this much fun. He ticks all the boxes. It’s so refreshing.
Suddenly, you’re falling in love with him. You’re falling in love with him after only one date,
‘Wow, he’s so perfect. I cannot believe I’ve met someone like that. Just when I was losing all my faith in love, I was able to attract him.’
Too Good to Be True
If someone that you have just met seems perfect, it is very likely that you’re misreading that person. I am not saying this to discourage you from love or that you will never be able to attract the guy of your dreams. Absolutely not.
However, remember that no one is perfect. Stop jumping into the conclusions. We all have our imperfections and that’s why being in a relationship is a great thing, because you can learn from each other and you can complement each other.
If you truly want to attract love in 2020 you must be smart about it. You can’t just throw your whole world at someone that shows you a little bit of attention.
If you’re giving your heart to someone make sure that person is worthy. Don’t be like Kate. Take your time. He’s out there. I promise.
